He cringed at Demyx's response. Damn. Talk about an unhappy ending... Lea couldn't help but feel for the poor guy. He thought of Marluxia, Larxene, Luxord... How many of them had woken up at home only to be shunned?

"Sorry. I'm not very good at this whole good guy thing, am I."

"Don't worry about it, you couldn't know...I mean, what parent doesn't welcome their kid home, huh?" Myde offered with a weak little smile.

"I don't think they were ever lost at least. They seemed healthy and everything...but it's really like I said, I wanted to take a walk on another world." He'd found his poor luck a little stifling.

"So, it's kinda bothering you guys huh?" He smiled a bit. "I should've gone somewhere else...somewhere with a nice beach."

"Not a bother," he said with a shrug. "Besides, the guy you really want to talk to is Sora. You could be the most depressed person on earth and walk away cheery just by looking at that dumb smiling face of his."

He grinned. "You're welcome to stay, you know. The castle's kinda empty, except for the five of us. We're working with the Restoration Committee to get the town on its feet again. Of course Even's still kind of a jerk. He didn't change a whole lot when he became a Nobody. But at least now he's less likely to freeze you solid just by looking at him funny."

He laughed at that. "Did you really expect any different? Even's always been kinda...you know." He smirked and made a rude gesture, a finger sliding into his other fist as if he'd sat on a stick or something. Clearly maturity had not transferred over to his age yet.

"That sounds like it might be okay. Gives me a purpose, right?" He parroted the words back, words he'd heard long ago when he'd lost his heart in the first place.

"But it's completely different this time." He declared boldly.
